A HEADTEACHER who oversees two Oxfordshire schools was banned from driving for a month and fined hundreds of pounds after she was caught speeding.
Rachael Warwick was made to pay more than £800 and disqualified from driving for 28 days, after she admitted driving at 50mph in a 30mph zone near Abingdon.
The respected headteacher, who lives in Bampton, is head of outstanding-rated Didcot Girls’ School and executive head of the Ridgeway Education Trust, which also runs neighbouring St Birinus School.
Manned police speed equipment caught the 49-year-old speeding in a Mercedes in Besselsleigh Road, Wootton, on Tuesday, February 6, at the western end of the village where the speed limit reduces to 30mph.
Banbury Magistrates’ Court considered Mrs Warwick’s case on September 25.
She was fined £660 plus a victim surcharge of £66 and court costs of £85.
The headteacher is a designated national leader of education is also vice president of the Association of School and College Leaders.
