AN OXFAM charity shop has had to pay £600 to replace smashed windows.

The shop, in Market Square, Witney, was targeted at the weekend - the fourth time since February.

Spokesman Sally Lee said: "You accept that, if you are in a town centre, this might happen once every six months. But this is costing our charity £150 a go. It's money that could be better spent on providing shelter for families in the Third World."

PC Duncan Johnson, of Witney police, said: "This is down to antisocial disorder related to alcohol and we will be talking to the shop about security measures."

An offender responsible for one of the attacks came forward and paid for the damage.
