A STUNNING spectrum of orange hues and a crisp reflection secured the winning shot for Michael Nottage this week.

The theme of autumn prompted a catalogue of impressive photos from our Camera Club snappers, from misty countryside mornings to mounds of wild mushrooms.

We were sent snaps of a plethora of pumpkins, carpets of conkers and kaleidoscope of crunchy leaves, which made for a striking spread in yesterday's Oxford Mail.

Several photographers also used Blenheim Palace as a backdrop with red foliage in the foreground, which made fantastic shots.

Mr Nottage's picture of the lake at Hinksey Park in South Oxford, however, turned our heads from the start of the week.

The line of multicoloured trees and with the reflection in the impossibly still water, almost like a mirror, made for an impressive pairing.

Mr Nottage earned £25 of Jessops vouchers but all who submitted this week can be proud.

Next week’s theme is happiness and we look forward to seeing how this less tangible subject inspires our photographers.
