PATIENTS at Witney Community Hospital had an unusual visitor today as a horse joined them on the ward.

The equine experience came courtesy of horse Roxy and performers Mary Lou Flexen and Melanie Fauske, who performed for patients and took a tour of the building, on Welch Way.

Oxford Mail:

Patients were invited to the hospital’s day room for the first part of proceedings, before Roxy was led around to meet those unable to watch the performance.

The visit came as part of the Creating with Care scheme, which is spearheaded by the hospital in partnership with West Oxfordshire District Council and currently only active in Witney.

The project provides a regular programme of activities to enhance patients’ experience and wellbeing.

Previous activities include a vintage cabaret garden party, a flash mob, and a book of poems and stories written by patients.
