A KNIFE spotted in public in Blackbird Leys has been seized by police.

An eyewitness contacted police after seeing the blade, which resembled a kitchen knife in an image shared by officers.

In a tweet this morning, neighbourhood police said they found the knife within minutes of receiving the report and have sent it to the police property store.

When asked if anyone was arrested or if someone had been carrying the knife, officers added: "No persons are involved, just the knife having been reported by a member of public after seeing it unattended."

The discovery comes just one day after five killers were convicted of a fatal attack in Blackbird Leys, in which machetes and golf clubs were used to beat and cut Christopher Lemonius to death.
