MEMBERS of a popular music academy were up until 5am this morning moving the final few guitars, drumkits and amplifiers from their spiritual home.

A team of volunteers from MuzoAkademy worked through the night to clear The Rock Barn in Witney Market Square, following one final gig last night.

Earlier this month, West Oxfordshire District Council's planning committee approved plans to demolish The Rock Barn and replace the building with six flats.

The charity, which teaches music to almost 150 people of all ages and abilities, was given a deadline of yesterday to leave the venue by owner David Harvey.

This week, MuzoAkademy hosted three nights of live music - dubbed the 'Last Chance Saloon' - to say goodbye to the building.

It is yet to find a permanent home and has had to cancel sessions since last week due to the move.
