WILLOW weaving and orchard exploring will be part of this year’s annual apple pressing day in Bicester.

People are invited along to join the team of volunteers at Langford Community Orchard for the fruitful family event.

There will be apple pressing, willow weaving, a chance to make bird feeders, DIY face painting and rock painting with Bicester Rocks.

To satisfy the tastebuds there will also be fresh apple juice, cakes, fruit kebabs, and ‘bring and share’ produce from Bicester Green Gym.

There will also be groups there talking about local wildlife and its importance including Pat Clissold on hand to talk about Gavray Meadows and the Cherwell Swift Conservation Project which will be talking about the birds.

Green group Replenish will also be on hand to help groups make their own compost on the day.

The annual event is always popular in the community calendar in Bicester and in the past has been joined by various local groups as well as town officials including the town mayor.

It is free for families to head along to the event on Sunday, October 7, and open to all ages.

It will run from 2pm to 4pm at the community orchard near Dunlin Court and Nuthatch Way.

In a big to be extra green, organisers have asked people to cycle or walk to the event.
