A TEENAGE girl was 'touched inappropriately' while travelling on a bus in Oxford. 

Police are treating the incident, which happened at around 4.40pm on Tuesday, September, 18, as a sexual assault.

The victim was on a bus travelling to Oxford when the offender got on board at the High Street stop and sat next to her.

He began talking to her, before holding her hand and touching her, according to police. 

The offender is described as a black man, of medium build and aged between 40 and 50.

He was clean shaven with black shoulder length hair that was braided. He was dressed in a black zipped jacket with a red t-shirt underneath.

Investigating officer PC Douglas Young, based at St Aldates station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward and help us with enquiries.

“We would like to hear from anyone with any information.”
