OXFORD is home to the country’s ‘most embarrassing parents’, according to a new survey.

A poll of 2,000 university students by Endsleigh Insurance Services parents living in the city were ‘the most wild and raucous’, and ‘far worse behaved than their teenage children’.

Endseligh claim more than one in five young adults from Oxford said their parents probably drink too much – and are ‘mortified’ by their behaviour when drunk.

Oxford pipped Edinburgh and Blackpool to the dubious title, while parents from Portsmouth are apparently ‘best behaved’.

The findings suggest adolescents around the country go to bed around 10.30pm and have fewer nights out than their own parents.
