EMERGENCY services responded to a 999 call last night after a two-car crash near Abingdon.

The crash happened just before 6.30pm in Abingdon Road, Clifton Hampden.

South Central Ambulance Service said there were three people inside the cars, and two of them had suffered minor injuries.

They were both treated and discharged at the scene.

Thames Valley Police's South and Vale team tweeted a photo of emergency services on scene, adding: "Thanks to the public and for our partner services for helping."

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service crews were also sent out.

Incident commander, watch manager Dean Hazell of Abingdon station, said: "The wearing of seatbelts prevented much more serious injuries.

"I would take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of always wearing your seatbelt as without it, even a relatively minor collision could have serious consequences."
