OXFORD United’s players want to come up against the strongest possible Manchester City side tonight, according to Cameron Norman.
The U’s will start as big outsiders to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round for the first time in 1997, regardless of which City side are fielded.
But even though it may make their odds of progressing even longer, the underdogs want to face the Premier League champions’ stars.
Norman said: “I’d like to see a full team as if they were playing in the Premier League or Champions League.
“There’s no better experience than to play against the best in the world.”
If Norman plays it would complete a remarkable rise.
Last season the full back was at King’s Lynn Town, who this week last year played Biggleswade Town.
He said: “It’s crazy to think I might be playing in this game against some of the best players in the world and a season ago I was playing in front of a couple of hundred people in non-league.
“Only football can really do that, but I’ve put in the hard work to get myself here so I will relish the opportunity.”
