WALLINGFORD School students hope to raise more than £10,000 for a local girl aiming to take her first steps, through an eight-mile sponsored walk next month.
The whole school will be involved, along with Brightwell Primary - where Maeve Norfolk is in reception - also joining in.
The youngster, who has already garnered lots of local support, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 15 months old and is unable to stand unsupported, but is hoping the funds will go towards a life-changing operation and rehabilitation programme.
Money goes towards Maeve’s Magical Journey, which is fundraising under the Tree of Hope Charity.
Nearly £30,000 of her £45,000 target has already been raised.
