JOHN Simpson, the BBC’s World Affairs Editor, is to give a talk about his debut novel.

The veteran foreign correspondent will speak about Moscow, Midnight, on Monday, October 15, at the Newman Room in St Aldate’s, at 7pm.

The new novel, being published by John Murray on October 4, focuses on overweight journalist Jon Swift, who starts to investigate when a government minister is found dead in his flat. Tickets for the talk, organised by Blackwell’s, cost £8.
