WEST Oxford, being the well-heeled sort of place it is, doesn't have a lot of graffiti.

That is partly what makes a tag on the wall of the gents' toilets in Waitrose on Botley Road stand out.

This is not your standard SOAK tag or crude scrawl about turf warfare - this is graffiti for grown-ups.

The erudite artist, using what appears to be a permanent marker (to judge from the apparent attempts to remove the words), has penned a political warning to his fellow shoppers and toilet users.

Sadly, however, in terms of grammar, the single sentence falls far below what Waitrose shoppers will expect.

Oxford Mail:

As for the political stance of the message, that, too, is likely to miss the mark with many constituents in the area, where Conservative MP Nicola Blackwood was only narrowly beaten by Lib Dem Layla Moran at the last General Election (26,256 votes to 25,440).

Having said that, the handwriting is not awful and there is, at least, a full stop at the end of the sentence.

Our mark? B minus.
