POLICE were called after a man was seen with a knife in Westbourne.
Officers were called to the area of Prince of Wales Road and Surrey Road at 11.19am.
It was reported that a male member of the public had tried to intervene in an argument involving a man and a woman.
The couple left the scene but returned a short time later with the man brandishing a knife.
No injuries were sustained, and the man left the scene in the direction of Surrey Road.
A search of the area was carried out with assistance from the NPAS helicopter.
As part of their enquiries, officers carried out a search at an address in Seamoor Road.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to locate the man. There have been no reports of any injuries.”
