A MAN was rescued from Poole Quay this morning by a passer-by.
Poole lifeboat crews were called to the scene at 6.45am after receiving reports of two people in the water by the old lifting bridge.
By the time the lifeboat crew arrived at the station, it was reported that the two men had made it ashore.
Once on the scene, the lifeboat crew administered first aid to the casualty.
Meanwhile, the Poole lifeboat was launched and carried further first aid equipment across the quay under the bridge.
Oxygen was administered from the lifeboat to the casualty and stretcher was passed ashore to help to transport the casualty to an ambulance.
Poole Coastguard was also standing by.
The casualty was taken to Poole Hospital.
