Two Oxfordshire pubs can expect a big boost in business after they were placed in the Good Pub Guide’s top 30 pubs in the country.
The Swan Inn in Swinbrook and The Maytime Inn in Asthall near Burford both made the list, published in the Times on Saturday, receiving high praise for their food, drink and all-round atmosphere.
The Good Pub Guide, which was published this month, has listings for over 40,000 pubs across the country including 754 in Oxfordshire, with official reviews deciding who is ranked amongst the very best.

Critics admired the Swan Inn for its “community driven ethos” and its serene location next to the River Windrush. The review also included a recommendation for the confit duck leg and roasted sweet potatoes.
The Good Pub Guide’s website has a more extensive review of the Swan Inn.
It says: “elegant, comfortable and warm bedrooms in this civilised, 400-year-old pub are in a smartly converted stone barn and five are beside the river”
Daniel Manlup, the manager of the Swan Inn, said he was “very proud” and added that the key to the pub’s success was the quality of the food combined with the customer service at the front of house.
There was also no shortage of praise for The Maytime Inn, which was described as “a perfect spot for an alfresco lunch”.
The Good Pub Guide also lauded its “stylish and well-equipped bedrooms” and “highly rated” breakfasts.
Supervisor Ciblan Clisdea said: ”It is an honour for us that the customers are happy.
"There is no secret to success, just good food, good atmosphere and a really nice location to relax in.”
With these two well thought of watering holes gaining so much attention, Oxfordshire's Cotswolds pubs have once again asserted themselves as among the best for a scenic pub outing.
