NORTH Leigh fell to their heaviest defeat in the Evo-Stik South League when they were hammered 8-1 at home by Corby Town.

The visitors were 2-0 up after 19 minutes of the Division 1 Central clash, after Jordon Crawford scored twice.

George Seacole pulled one back for the Millers with a header.

But an own goal from Ben Brown and a Ben Bradshaw strike saw Corby lead 4-1 at half-time.

It only got worse for the hosts after the break when Bradshaw and Elliot Sandy made it 6-1.

The Millers’ day was compounded by a second own goal for Brown and another strike from

Sandy.

Thame United fell to their first league defeat of the season when losing 2-0 at home to Barton Rovers.

Liam Tack saw two efforts kept out by the visiting goalkeeper in the opening ten minutes.

Thame needed Craig Hill to make a fine save to ensure the scores were level at the break.

But Paul Andrews put Barton in front on 53 minutes, before Andrew Phillips made the points safe with ten minutes to go.

Kidlington remain rooted to the foot of the table after a 2-0 defeat at Berkhamstead.

Marcus Campbell hit a post early on for the hosts, before Calum Harvey headed straight at goalkeeper James Weatherall at the other end.

Kidlington fell behind on 29 minutes when Matt Bateman rounded Sam Warrell and slotted home.

But they could have equalised before half-time, only for Jamie Calvin to fire wide when one-on-one.

The hosts secured victory on 81 minutes when Bateman scored his second.

Kidlington were awarded a penalty late on, but Ben Willoughby scuffed his effort wide as they still await their first goal and points.

Didcot Town held previous leaders Peterborough Sports to a 0-0 draw.

Despite missing seven players through injury, the Railwaymen extended their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions.

Sports were restricted to long-range efforts for the majority of the game.

But Didcot needed Leigh Bedwell to make a late save to make sure of a hard-earned point.

Banbury United’s unbeaten start in Premier Division Central came to an end in a 3-1 defeat at home to St Neots Town.

Ravi Shamsi put the Puritans in front on 18 minutes.

But former Banbury man Nabil Shariff’s double put the visitors 2-1 up at half-time.

A superb strike from Dylan Williams made it 3-1 before the hour mark, with Banbury unable to get back into the game.
