A NEW high–tech wall of the future will see teams from Oxford’s two main universities battle it out in a series of games.

The wall, which is being created at the Ozone Leisure Park, opposite the Kassam Stadium in Oxford is the fourth of its kind in the country.

Due to open on next Tuesday, September 18, the Augmented Climbing Wall boasts the title of the ‘World’s first interactive games platform for climbing walls’ and should appeal to beginners and experienced climbers.

Oxford University’s climbing society students will go head-to-head with Oxford Brookes’ climbers on the wall, challenging each other in a series of interactive games, kick–starting the new term in competitive style.

No special equipment is needed for people to enjoy this new technology, which includes a number of both individual, head-to-head and team games.

James Sweetnam, The Event Corporation Ltd founder, said: “We’re really passionate about bringing alternative active entertainment to people here in the South of the UK and across Wales.

“With our escape room concept, City Mazes, already popular elsewhere, we’re no strangers to launching interactive activities.

“It’s great to be the first in the South and in Oxford and its surrounding area and we look forward to welcoming people from the city and beyond to enjoy this new climbing technology.”
