THRILL-SEEKERS experienced the ride of their lives on day one of the Witney Feast fun fair today.
The Feast returned to the Leys yesterday for its 775th year, with the traditional Golden Gallopers church service kicking off proceedings.
This is followed by two days of white-knuckle rides courtesy of Bob Wilson’s Funfairs, which has run the event's fair since the 1940s.
The fair is one of the largest in the country and features some of the latest rides, together with classics like the Waltzer, Dodgems and a great selection of 'pink knuckle' rides just for the little ones.
Among more than 50 attractions are the 30-metre tall Sky Flyer swing tower and Storm, which promises fair-goers 40-metres of pure adrenaline.
William Wilson, managing director of Bob Wilson funfairs, previously said: “People got nostalgic for the old rides like dodgems and heater skelters but you’ve also got to have modern rides."
Tonight, an international fireworks display will mark the Feast's milestone year in style, while a steam engine and venison roast have joined the usual attractions for this year's event.
The fair is open from 2pm to 11pm today and tomorrow, with entry free and rides pay as you go.
