FREE eye tests are being offered to drivers by an Oxford optician after police warned residents with poor vision will have their licence revoked.
Optical Express, which has a branch in Market Street, will give residents a free test throughout September if they bring in a valid driver's licence.
Last week, Thames Valley Police introduced an immediate ban for any driver who cannot read a number plate from 20 metres when pulled over at the roadside.
The checks are part of a wider campaign by road safety charity Brake to encourage the public and the Government to take driver vision seriously, with an estimated 1.5m UK licence holders never having had an eye test.
Customers will also need to fill out a eye test voucher on the company's website.
