A HOUSING association is celebrating after winning two prizes at a national awards ceremony.
Advance Housing and Support, based in Witney, triumphed in the Most Innovative Home Ownership Solution and Overall Winner categories at the National Housing Federation’s Housing Awards 2018 on Friday.
The success is a result of the company's HOLD (home ownership for people with long-term disabilities) scheme, which has helped more than 600 people own their own homes.
HOLD is open to anyone over 18 with a recognised long term disability and puts the customer in control of choosing where they wish to live.
The judges said they would like to see the programme 'rolled out across every town and city in the UK', while they unanimously chose Advance as their overall winner.
The company's chief executive Julie Layton said: “It is fantastic to receive this external recognition of how we support our customers to live the life they choose."
