KEGS of beer, ale and cider were drained to the last drop by thirsty drinkers in Oxford.

The Masons Arms hosted the 17th Headington Beer Festival at the weekend, filling its premises with a tempting array of tipples.

It was scheduled to run from Friday until yesterday but proved so popular that it only made it to day two of three, after selling out of stock on Saturday.

The pub, which has won Oxfords CAMRA's Pub of the Year award several times, holds the festival every year.

It tweeted late on Saturday night: "Our Beer Festival is officially SOLD OUT!

"Thanks to everyone who came and supported us once again, we hope you all had a great time.

"Sorry we didn’t make it to the Sunday again this year!"

From a toffee apple flavoured cider to a chocolate stout, there were dozens of different drinks for people to pour from.

The festival was based in the pub's function room and gazebos in the garden, which was decorated with bunting and lights.
