MORE than 25 parking tickets were issued by police in just one evening.
Officers said they targeted Bretch Hill in Banbury 'following a series of complaints' and warned motorists they may face £30 fines if parked on double yellow lines.
Residents in towns across Oxfordshire have previously complained about the lack of police action on parking violations.
In areas including Oxford city parking has been 'decriminalised' and enforcement passed to the council.
There have been calls for similar steps to be taken across the county with police accused of not prioritising the problem.
Last year Cherwell District Council gave Thames Valley Police an extra £60,000 to tackle illegal parking across the whole district for two years.
