GREEN-FINGERED children looked to the future in an effort to become more environmentally-friendly in April 1990.
Around 50 youngsters from Bletchington, near Oxford, created a giant rainforest mural in the village hall as part of a special ecology day.
The day was part of a 'green' campaign by Bletchington Ecology Group, who put on an activity-packed day where residents were invited to dress up as parrots and gorillas.
Villagers were given young sycamore, oak, beech and other saplings to nurture until the autumn, when they would be planted around the village.
There was also a locally-produced display on recycling, including a specially laid-on skip for waste paper.
Organiser Margo Teall said: "It's been a busy time organising just one day of events, but I'm confident we have made people aware of what can be done and that recycling will take off in Bletchington."
