A GROUP of wood carvers seeking a permanent home for their work have set up camp in the Westgate Centre.
The Oxon and Bucks branch of the British Woodcarvers Association designed the three intricate panels a decade ago for a celebration of 1,000 years of Oxfordshire history by the county council.
But the work, which charts key events in the county's history, is yet to find a permanent home, and the group has been turned down by the John Radcliffe Hospital and Oxfordshire County Library.
The group is now seeking support from the public, hoping it will sway the council - or other organisations - and help them find a place to show the works.
They care currently showcasing the etchings at John Lewis store in the Westgate Centre, by the lifts on each of the shop's three floors.
Those viewing the work, which includes an etching of Blenheim Palace and Winston Churchill, can also sign a petition to show the group support.
They will be there until midday on Tuesday.
