A MAN who was killed after his mobility scooter collided with an ambulance has been named.
Adrian Hesford, 64, from Abingdon, was hit by the emergency vehicle while crossing the road on Stratton Way, Abingdon, on August 10, an inquest opening heard today.
Mr Hesford was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital after the incident but later died of his injuries,Oxford Coroner's Court heard.
Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter said: "He was on his scooter and stopped at a pedestrian crossing.
"The traffic lights turned to red but as he was crossing he was struck by an ambulance responding to an emergency call."
A full inquest will be held at Oxford Coroner's Court on Thursday, February 7.
