A TEENAGER inspired by a school talk about swimming the Channel, has now completed a challenging feat of his own for charity.
Redmond Kerr, from Fringford in Bicester, this month ran 84-miles alone from Bowness to Newcastle.
The coast to coast challenge was to raise money for Acorns Outreach charity for people with addictions.
His proud mum Katherine Spencer said the teen contended with rain, rough terrain, boulders, sun, cows and even getting lost along the way.
But he crossed the finish line, albeit with paned feet, hips and legs.
The teen hoped his efforts would inspire others to help raise money for charity and challenge themselves. He has now raised an impressive £1,738 for the charity and counting.
His proud mum Katherine Spence added: "After meeting the head of the charity and hearing about their life-saving work he promised to swim the English Channel for them next year."
