A motorist was slashed across the face with a broken bottle when he refused to get out of his car in an unprovoked attack.

A 45-year-old man was parking on The Slade near the junction of Windmill Road and Old Road in Oxford at 6.15am on Friday when he was attacked.

Two men asked him to get out the car but when he refused one of them smashed the window and slashed his cheek with a broken bottle.

They then fled in a metallic light blue five-door Vauxhall Corsa and the motorist was taken to hospital and needed several stitches in his right cheek.

Police do not know the motive for the attack.

The man brandishing the bottle is described as around 6ft tall, wearing a black woollen hat with white rim, clean shaven and wore dark clothes.

The second man is said to be around 5ft 6ins, medium build, short mousey hair wearing blue jeans and no top.

Both are white, in their 20s and spoke with local accents.
