There were blue skies and bright sunshine for Blenheim Palace's country craft show over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Thousands of people flocked to the annual three day event, which saw hundreds of traditional crafts brought to life at the Oxfordshire Craft Show.

With specialist demonstrations from bee-keepers, lace makers, calligraphers and wood carvers, among others, and scores of stalls offering goods such as jewellery, pottery and glassware, there was no shortage of things to see.

On Sunday, guests took part in a blacksmith's competition and were entertained by the Amigo Marching Band, winners of the Dutch brass band championships, in the Great Court, while children enjoyed a puppet show.

The show, which is in its 22nd year, attracts the finest craftsmen from all over the country, and also showcases local talent.

Organiser Marge Needhan, said: "It was a very successful weekend for everybody and people thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I think everyone had decided summer was here and decided to come down and enjoy themselves - which made a lovely atmosphere.

"It's an ideal place to come down and make a day of it. We had lots of displays that people were able to just wander round and watch at their leisure, including falconry."

The craft fair attracted around 20,000 people over the weekend from all over the region.
