A motorcyclist and a car collided just 300 yards from the spot where two men were killed in a smash two weeks ago.

A silver Peugeot 206 and a white Suzuki motorbike collided at the junction of Shakespeare Drive and Middleton Stoney Road, near Bicester, last Wednesday.

It is the second crash to happen on the same stretch of road in two weeks.

The learner motorcyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he was treated for a suspected broken wrist.

The driver of the Peugeot was uninjured, but both vehicles were badly damaged.

Thames Valley Police, a fire crew and the ambulance service attended the incident at around 8.20pm.

Retained fire officer Russell Hurle said: "It was a nasty accident and both vehicles were heavily damaged due to the impact.

"We made both vehicle safe and mopped up the oil that had spilt on to the road."

This incident happened just 16 days after two friends were killed after their red Peugeot 205 lost control on the road.

James McCabe, 21, of Hemingway Drive, and Adam Davis, 19, of Oxlip Leyes, died when their car left the road at the junction near Howes Lane.
