AFTER a 13-week revamp, The Fox at Boars Hill returned with a fresh lick of paint and a 'historic' glitzy new layout – to give punters a view worth travelling for.
Hall's Brewery spent £140,000 on giving the pub a facelift, creating a new dining area, garden bar and terrace.
In many ways the pub went back to its roots, with the original stonework being given prominence along with genuine wood beams, and so creating much more of an old-style country inn atmosphere than before.
Licensees Tony and Sandra Savage, who had been at the pub for almost a year in May 1987, were happy with the result.
They said: "Because 95 per cent of our customers drive here, we feel we ought to give them the sort of surroundings worth travelling out to."
