A SPLASH park in Wallingford was empty despite the sweltering weather this morning, after algae growth sparked its closure.
Jubilee Splash Park, park of the the Riverside Park and Pools site, was closed all morning while maintenance works were carried out.
It reopened again just before 1pm today, having been fully cleaned and made safe.
Though algae itself is not seen to be harmful, it can cause a slip hazard and promote growth of bacteria.
The splash park at Riverside is currently out of action for maintenance. We hope to have it working again by this afternoon - we'll let you all know when it's up and running.

A spokesperson for the council said: "Algae had begun to form on the surface which meant it was becoming slippery.
"Our contractors arranged for a special jet washer to clean the site so it is safe for people to use again."
