A FREE sailing taster day will be held at Farmoor Reservoir tomorrow.
Oxford Sail Training Trust is inviting locals to its base to give the sport a go.
From 10am to 4pm, no matter the age or experience level, all are welcome to come along and get afloat with the guidance of the centre’s expert instructors.
Visitors only need to bring clothes and soft soled shoes they do not mind getting wet.
The sessions are a joint initiative with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as part of efforts to get more people involved with water sports across the UK.
Susie Moore, RYA south regional development officer, said: “We’re super excited to be giving more people the chance to have a go at something new this summer.
“Our national Push The Boat Out ‘try sailing’ festival throughout May saw thousands of people across the south have a go for the first time, with hundreds joining clubs and signing up to learn to sail on the spot.
“To extend that and get even more people out on the water is brilliant.”
