A 16-year-old boy was left with a serious eye wound after being attacked while out with his girlfriend.

The teenagers were strolling through Abbey Close in Abingdon at about 9pm on Monday, July 2, when they were approached by another boy. 

He pushed the girlf then assaulted the boy, leaving him with a serious eye injury for which he is still receiving treatment. 

The attacker was in his mid teens, about 5ft 6ins to 7ins, with a spotty complexion and blond or ginger curly hair, which was short on the sides.

He was wearing a black and white 'face covering', a green zip-up jacket with a hood and black trousers.

Investigating officer, PC Ollie Sykes of the Investigation Hub, said: “I am appealing for a woman, who walked past the incident and then intervened, to come forward, as she may be a vital witness in this investigation.
