A FORMER bed shop and showroom in Abingdon is to be demolished.
Andrew and Mervin Knight plan to replace the old Abingdon Beds store on Spring Road with a block of four flats.
The firm recently moved to Marcham Road leaving the old unit empty.
In a planning application to Vale of White Horse District Council the duo's planning agent Mike Gilbert said: "The proposal is to demolish the existing utilitarian building on the site provide four flats in a two storey building plus accommodation in the roof space.
"There will be one two-bedroom flat plus indoor bicycle and bin storage areas on the ground floor, one one-bedroom flat and one two-bedroom flat on the first floor, and one one-bedroom flat on the second floor.
"All of the flats are accessed from Edward Street via a communal area, which also leads to a shared amenity space at the rear."
