UPDATE: CCTV released as police end scene watch at Boxhill Park
A HEAVY police presence still surrounds the wooded area in Abingdon where a dog walker was stabbed last week.
At least a dozen officers were seen at Boxhill Park yesterday guarding the site, along with several police cars and a police van.
The playing fields and children's play area remain open but the wooded path through the park is currently blocked by police tape.
On Thursday at around 10:30am, a man described as being in his late teens approached a woman in the park and put his left hand over her mouth before stabbing her once in the stomach. He then fled through the woods near Clifton Drive.
The victim, who is in her 50s, has since been discharged from the John Radcliffe hospital.
A 17-year-old boy from Abingdon was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but police confirmed on Monday he has been released without further action.
