A TWO-MONTH murder trial into the killing of Christopher Lemonius has reached its final stages.
Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC yesterday began delivering his closing speech, summing up the Crown Prosecution Service’s case in front of a jury at Oxford Crown Court.
During the trial, which began in May, the 11-strong panel has heard from eyewitnesses, seen CCTV footage and heard from forensic experts giving evidence on the alleged murder on June 1 last year.
A number of the accused men also took to the witness box.
The case relates to the killing of 27-year-old Mr Lemonius who was found seriously injured in an alleyway off Jourdain Road in Blackbird Leys.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but died shortly afterwards.
After a police investigation six men were charged with his murder, as well as four others – two men, a teenage boy and a woman –with counts relating to perverting the course of justice.
Six Oxford men all deny murder - Yasine Lamzini, Rashaun Stoute, Yousef Koudoua, Connor Woodward, Carlos Spencer and Otman Lamzini.
Allal Lamzini, Yamina Lamzini, Saffon Fakir, and a 17-year-old from Oxford deny perverting the course of justice.
The trial continues.
