BOTLEY'S Seacourt Hall will be holding an open day this weekend to celebrate its move to a temporary new home.

The community centre has relocated to the former Grant Thornton Building at the West Way centre with its former home in Chapel Way set to be demolished as part of the centre's redevelopment.

The hall, which hosts community activities and North Hinksey Parish Council meetings, will now be located on the 2nd floor of 1 Westminster Way, the former Grant Thornton building on the corner of West Way and Westminster Way for about 12 months.

A brand new community hub housing the hall and library alongside the Baptist Church and other facilities is planned to open in autumn 2019.

The open day will feature tea and cakes, craft activities, stalls run by local clubs and charities, and information on local issues including the Neighbourhood Plan, the rejuvenation project at the Louie Memorial Playing Fields, the Eynsham to Botley community path, and the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme.

Chair of the management committee, Lorna Berrett said: “"The Open Day is an opportunity for the community to see the new space, have a tour and check out the facilities, as well as find out about local activities and issues, and have some fun.

"We’re here for at least a year and want everyone to take advantage of the space and facilities for their parties, meetings, classes, or whatever they need.”

The Seacourt Hall Open Day will be held from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, July 15.
