ENGLAND’S success at the World Cup in Russia has seemingly sparked yet another graffiti attack at Botley’s West Way shopping centre.

The words ‘We have the chance to affect something greater than ourselves’ were scrawled on the ground at the shopping centre’s car park over the weekend following England's 2-0 win over Sweden.

The words were uttered by England manager Gareth Southgate earlier in the tournament to inspire his players.

The cross of St George was also daubed on a number of walls at the shopping centre, though at least one of those was yesterday painted over.

It is the latest in a number of acts of vandalism at the West Way centre which is being redeveloped into a multi-million-pound retail and residential complex.

A mysterious graffiti artist going by the name of ‘Waldo’ has previously claimed responsibility for attacks often featuring slogans criticising the development and Vale of White Horse District Council’s involvement.

It is not known if Waldo is behind the latest vandalism.
