A POPULAR cafe above a cycling shop in the city centre could be extended down to the ground floor.
The Handle Bar Cafe in St Michael's Street wants to expand into the Bike Zone shop it sits above.
The owners want to bring part of the restaurant down to street level and said it would improve footfall.
Part of the bike shop, currently used as a showroom, would be converted into a cafe / bar, according to the plans submitted by Original Field of Architecture.
The Grade II listed building would also undergo some alterations and a refurbishment, with partitions filled in and a bar fitted inside.
A decision is expected to be made by August 27.
