ONE of Oxfordshire's MPs is under investigation for his use of stationery.

The Parliamentary commissioner is leading an inquiry into an alleged breach of the code of conduct by Witney MP Robert Courts.

Mr Courts is accused of breaching paragraph 15 of the code, which states: "Members are personally responsible and accountable for ensuring that their use of any expenses, allowances, facilities and services provided from the public purse is in accordance with the rules laid down on these matters. Members shall ensure that their use of public resources is always in support of their parliamentary duties."

A spokesman for the MP said Mr Courts maintains the stationery was used 'perfectly legitimately'.
