PUBS across Oxfordshire have attracted various accolades recently with seemingly a different pub every week recognised as among the UK's best.

With drinkers across the county increasingly spoilt for choice when searching for places to visit, we've drawn up a comprehensive list of all the pubs honoured with awards of late.

They include:

The Rose & Crown, Charlbury

Real ale connoisseurs CAMRA are a source to be reckoned with when it comes to picking the best place to drink. Oxfordshire has four branches of the organisation and together they picked the Rose & Crown as the county's best pub for this year.

Offering locally sourced ale and ciders and events including ukulele nights and live comedy, the family-run affair has been a Good Beer Guide stalwart for more than 30 years.

Killingworth Castle, Wootton

Undercover inspectors felt the Killingworth Castle should be recognised for its food offering when they awarded it two AA rosettes.

The formerly derelict pub reopened in 2012 and has since received a slew of awards and is one of only a handful in Oxfordshire to have received the accolade.

Artist Residence, South Leigh

Condé Nast Traveller Magazine felt fit to include Artist Residence in its 'Hot List' for 2018.

The Hare, Milton-under-Wychwood

Another candidate for Oxfordshire's best pub, according to the National Pub and Bar Awards, the Hare narrowly missed out on being named the best in the south east.

After reopening in 2016, the pub's village setting, mix of food and drink and Friday 5pm champagne happy hour has made it popular.

The Hollybush, Witney

Our sister paper The Oxford Times was inspired by the Hollybush's young team and named this pub as the best in its 2017 restaurant awards.

Reviewer Katherine MacAlister said: "The sharing menu is varied and easy to pick from, and the mains include pub staples from fish and chips to steaks, yet the dishes are accomplished and ambitious, the attention to detail a constant, new flavours a given...They also do a damn good burger."

Abingdon Arms, Beckley

Pubs aren't always just about eating and drinking. A growing wave of community-owned pubs are taking over the countryside. These establishments provide a much-needed meeting space along with other village services such as post offices and shops.

Oxfordshire is blessed with a growing number of community-run pubs and last month the Abingdon Arms was named the best in all of the UK.
