GEORGE and Thomas West looked at their town's heritage through scientifically-rose-tinted glasses at a science exploration day at their local museum yesterday.
The brothers, aged four and six, were among dozens who joined the family fun day at Wantage's Vale and Downland Museum.
Real scientists from the area used the event to show visitors the part that science played in Wantage's heritage.
Among them were chemist Sem Seabourne, who explained the science behind Wantage's famous leather-tanning trade, and physicist Jim Birch who played the part of Robert Hooke.
The day, which featured hands-on activities, demonstrations and crafts, was free to join and was funded by Diamond Light Source laboratory at Harwell and the Science and Technology Facilities Council.
