THE BAKER behind Harry and Meghan's wedding cake is among the top chefs announced for west Oxfordshire's Big Feastival.

Organisers have today unveiled a range of food and drink experiences for the three-day event, which will be held at Blur Bassist Alex James's farm in Kingham, near Chipping Norton, from August 24-26.

Brand new for 2018 and exclusive to the festival is The Collaboration Kitchen, which will serve up a series of special edition menus co-created by some of the most innovative names on the UK street food scene.

There will be four sittings daily, with menus released in advance and bookings open on site on a first come, first served basis.

All proceeds will go to charity Action Against Hunger.

The Friday Night Supper Club will also return for the fifth year on Friday August 24, transforming The NEFF Big Kitchen into an al fresco dining space for guests to enjoy dinner and drinks at sunset.

The evening will be hosted by Matthew and Iain Pennington from Bristol-based award-winning restaurant The Ethicurean.

The brothers will be creating a specially-themed menu, The Ethicurean Wasted Picnic, for guests to enjoy under the stars as an unforgettable dining experience, using only food waste ingredients.

Not a sliver of bread, cheese, meat or vegetable will go to waste at the restaurant in the run up to The Big Feastival.

The Ethicurean team will be squirrelling away ends of bread to turn into cakes, excess vegetables to ferment in spices and end cuts of meat to preserve to create their feast.

Adding to an already brimming menu of culinary activities, The Big Feastival will also add two new chefs to the line-up.

Claire Ptak, chef-owner of Violet Bakery, is one of the most talked about talents on the scene right now, being responsible for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lemon and elderflower wedding cake.

Annabel Karmel, best-selling author and expert on children’s food, will also be on hand to provide families with her nutritional expertise.

They will join a stellar line-up which already includes Michelin Star heavyweights Marco Pierre-White, Raymond Blanc, Pierre Koffmann, Mark Hix, Ashley Palmer-Watts, Glynn Purnell and Merlin Labron Johnson

On the music side of things, dance act Basement Jaxx and singers Craig David and Paloma Faith in March were revealed to be headlining this year's festival, which will be the events seventh outing.
