THE site of a Tudor palace is set to open up for a rare chance to tour its grounds.
Rycote Park, near Thame has announced plans to open its doors on June 6* at 10am in aid of women's health.
The historic mansion was once frequented by royalty including Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I but was almost completely demolished in 1807.
All that remains today is part of the south-west tower and the fourteenth-century Rycote Chapel, built for the owners of the estate.
Proceeds from the exclusive event will go to the charity Wellbeing of Women with tickets available now at wellbeingofwomen.org.uk.
*Organisers previously said the open day was on June 20. We are happy to confirm the correct date is June 6.
