AWARD-WINNING musician, activist and poet Akala will speak about his latest work at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford tonight.

The rapper, fresh off an appearance on BBC's Question Time, will be discussing his new book Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire, and the uncomfortable questions it raises about British society.

The BAFTA and MOBO winner, who created the hip-hop Shakespeare Company in 2009, has increasingly turned towards political commentary in recent years.

Tickets for the talk cost £8, doors open at 6.30pm.
