I RECENTLY endured a most uncomfortable journey from Oxford to Worcester on one of GWR’s new bimode trains (electric/diesel traction).
The seats are more akin to a park bench, affording very little compression. Needless to say I was very disappointed (I may take a cushion with me in future).
The trains they have replaced are far more comfortable, and have a more pleasing decor.
I am reluctant to use the prefix Great in ‘Great Western Railway’.
I concede that the old trains are pure diesel and therefore less environmentally friendly.
