A FUNDRAISING evening to support one couple’s dream of opening a disability day centre in Bicester is being hosted by mayor Les Sibley.
Rachael and Ian Scott-Hunter, inspired by their experience caring for daughter Alexandra, who has severe learning difficulties, hope to open the centre in the light of cuts to the sector.
The pair were gifted land worth about £1million last month for their plans and are continuing to raise money to make the centre, Alexandra House of Joy, a reality.
Bicester mayor Les Sibley has now planned a fundraising evening on May 12 at the Littlebury Hotel.
It will include a talk called Memoirs of a Royal Footman from Mr Scott-Hunter, plus more details about their centre plans. There will also be refreshments and a raffle at the event, which will runs from 12.30 until 2pm.
Tickets for the event are £15 each and available from Bicester Town Council in Launton Road and Coles Bookshop in Crown Walk, Bicester's town centre.
