AN AGREEMENT for the city council to take over the maintenance of Oxford's roads could be signed off later today.
As part of the deal Oxfordshire County Council will pay the city's Oxford Direct Services company £1.56m to take care of all roads in the city over 2018/19.
Previously the city council was only in charge of minor roads but it will now oversee repairs and improvements to major roads, such as Botley Road and Abingdon Road.
Councillors are expected to approve the arrangement at 5pm at Town Hall.
